Driving down to New York City last month, made a pit stop in Owego and enjoyed a stroll around its charming downtown and along the Susquehanna riverfront. A few weeks and a few tropical storm overflows later, Owego was one of many small towns along the Susquehanna to suffer severe flooding. It’s crazy how so many places can be literally drowning in excess rainfall, while other places are so parched the land there is actually on fire. If only there were some way to divert the floodwaters down to the southwest and restore some kind of balance…
I don’t really know what the bears event was, or if they had anything to do with the ensuing storms. Let’s hope not, ‘cause they kind of get a bad rap already.
